Question: Are you accepting applications
Answer: The Rhinelander Fire Department creates an eligibility list every year.  Applications are accepted through Chippewa Valley Technical College begining in January of every year.

Question:
Can I burn in the city?
Answer: Burning is allowed inside the city limits.  Burning is limited to cooking fires, recreational fires, and yard waste such as leaves, and brush.

Question:
Do I need a burning permit?
Answer: If you are planning to burn inside the city limits you must have a permit.  Permits can be written out for three days, or one year.  You may pick up a permit at the fire station.

Question:
Can I burn garbage?
Answer: No.  You can not burn garbage inside the city limits.

Question:
Are campfires allowed in the city?
Answer:
You are allowed to have recreation camp fires inside the city.  However your fire pit must meet certain criteria, and be inspected by the fire department in order to obtain a permit.
