Fire Suppression-The Rhinelander Fire Department provides fire suppression services to the city of Rhinelander. The department also provides mutual aid to surrounding townships when requested. The department also provides a Rapid Intervention Team to surrounding fire departments.
Emergency Medical Services-In August of 2010 the Rhinelander Fire Department took over operation of all emergency medical responses in the city of Rhinelander. The department has 11 Paramedics, 2 EMT-IV Technicians, and 6 EMT-Basics. Our EMTs and Paramedics have years of experience and education. The department provides these services with 3 2010 Horton ambulances mounted on Dodge Chassis.
Rescue Services-Members of the Rhinelander Fire Department are trained not only to fight fire and respond to medical emergencies. We also perform vehicle extrication, trench rescue, high angle/low angle rescue, collapse rescue, water rescue, ice rescue, and confined space rescue.
Fire Inspections-The Rhinelander Fire Department inspects every commercial building in the city of Rhinelander twice per year.
Public Education-The Rhinelander Fire Department performs public education every fall, and spring at local schools. The department also performs fire extinguisher demonstrations through out the year at local businesses.
Hazardous Materials Team-Many firefighters also are members of the Oneida County Hazardous Materials Team. This team is made up of volunteers of public saftey personnel through out Oneida County. The Oneida County Hazardous Materials Team responds to incidents in Oneida, Vilas, Forest, and Lincoln counties.
